MAVA Honors Seven Outstanding Students as U.S. Presidential Scholar Nominees

Marlborough, MA – The Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators (MAVA) proudly recognized seven exceptional students as nominees for the prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program during its General Membership Meeting on March 19, 2025. Each honoree received a commemorative plaque presented by MAVA Board President Denise Pigeon and Dr. Russell D. Johnston, Acting Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

During the ceremony, each nominee was individually called forward to receive their award, while their school principal shared inspiring remarks about their achievements and the qualities that earned them this distinguished recognition.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964 by Executive Order of the President, recognizes and honors some of the nation’s most accomplished graduating high school seniors. These students have demonstrated outstanding academic success, leadership, and contributions to their schools and communities.

MAVA extends its heartfelt congratulations to the following nominees:

·      Christopher E. Joiner – Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, Upton, MA

·      Madisyn R. Koza – Greater Lowell Technical High School, Tyngsborough, MA

·      Nichollas G. Morais – Greater Lowell Technical High School, Tyngsborough, MA

·      Kendra M. Santiago – Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, New Bedford, MA

·      Sunay Agarwal – Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Lexington, MA

·      Andy Li – Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy, Springfield, MA

·      Ariyana S. Chrispin Perkins – Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, South Easton, MA
